A New Normal

Hello everyone, I would like to welcome any new visitors to our newsletter and thank our continuous visitors. As our lives start to return to “normal” the one thing that remains constant is change. Is ordering food from a kiosk or online going to be the new norm? What about menus at a restaurant, will we need our cell phones to scan a QR code to be sent to the menu online? Salt, pepper, ketchup, and other condiments; will we need to request them each time we dine? These are just a few changes that COVID forced us into that quite possibly could become the new “norm”.

A major change that happened in the Ag Industry over the past year and a half was the cancellation of farm shows. In general, the industry was concerned about how this would affect our customer interaction and ultimately sales. However, the availability of stimulus money and high grain prices helped the Ag economy endure and remained strong. Many farm equipment manufacturers offset these show cancellations by going with a larger digital footprint. Web site content was increased, product promos were produced and some even participated in virtual farm shows. Will this be the new “norm”?

Farms Shows are scheduled to start again this fall. Will there be crowds, or will the shows as we knew them become something of the past? If you are like me, the need to occasionally “kick the tires” is essential. I anticipate attendance at shows will still be a necessity to the AG Industry, but the digital footprint is also here to stay. Change is constant, be prepared to accept it because this show/digital footprint hybrid could be the new norm. We hope to see all of you again this fall as the shows start up. Remember to stop by our display lot at the various shows and “kick the tires”, our sales staff is anxious to answer any questions you may have.
